Bob McNamara Joins Central Scouting Services

How do you define player development?  How do you define success in identifying talent?  Maybe you need to check off some of these components;

One hundred and seventeen players developed for the NHL?  Check.  Twenty three Stanley Cup winners developed?  Check.  Multiple awards for Executive of The Year?  Check.

When it comes to talent identification, and development, few in the hockey world have the experience that can rival Bob McNamara.  Fewer still understand the business side of that talent development at the highest levels..

Central Scouting Services is pleased to announce the addition of Bob McNamara to lead its Professional Hockey Division as Executive Director, while offering further support to its Junior and Amateur player services around the world.

“Having worked with some of the people at CSS in the past, and seeing what they are doing for players and teams as we move into tomorrows technology and training, this was an easy decision to make.”  Said McNamara  “Having the ability to work with professional, junior and amateur players around the world, and focus on their development is my passion.  Educating players, and parents on todays game, how decisions are made, and the effect that technology can have on their ability is exciting.”

McNamara will oversee all Professional Combines as well as speak and participate in educational components of all Pre Draft and Junior Combines.

“Having someone with Bob’s level of experience in the industry to work with players who really need accurate information will be a tremendous asset for CSS moving forward.”  Said North America Executive Director Tim Taylor “Few people in the world have his level of experience and can offer the insight that he can offer to prospects at every level.”

Central Scouting Services will be announcing more Combine events in the coming weeks as players who have completed their NCAA, CIS or Junior hockey careers are looking for new opportunity in the United States and Europe.
