Elliot Lake Wildcats Coaching Change

Gone is Nathan Hewitt who has been rumored for a month to be accepting an assistant coaching position with Waterloo University.  In to Elliot Lake comes NOJHL Coaching veteran Corey Bricknell.

Bricknell is an experienced bench boss and an accomplished former player;

–  Coaching junior hockey for 16 years, including Iroquois Falls of the NOJHL in 2015-16

–  Assistant Coach Barrie Colts, OHL (2008 -09)

–  Program of Excellence under-16 (OHL/OHF) 9 camps

–  Drafted 60th Overall Newmarket Royals (OHL)

–  Played with the Newmarket Royals and Niagara Falls Thunder of the OHL

–  Attended Boston Bruins Rookie Camp

–  Attended Rochester Americans Main Camp

–  Attended Detroit Vipers Main Camp

–  Played 7 years minor pro

“Corey is a very personable individual with outstanding coaching credentials; and will have an immediate impact on the community and our team,” said Hennessey.

“The Elliot Lake Wildcats are extremely privileged to have secured the services of a coach of Corey’s calibre.”

The organization and Bricknell have agreed on a two-year contract with option for a third of which the details will not be released.
