Erie Otters or the Cochrane Crunch that is the question???

YOUR Cochrane Crunch are extremely pleased to announce that on July 31st the Belle River, Ontario native Ryan Gruszka signed on play with YOUR Crunch for the 2014-2015 season.

This young man weighs in at 180 lbs and and measures 5’11”.   He is a very dominant force on the ice and this young Power Forward knows how to put the puck in the net.  Last season he started off playing with the Wallaceburg Junior ‘C’ Hockey team of the GLJCHL and tallied a total of 38 pts in 26 games.  He finished off last season with the Lambton Shores Predators Junior ‘B’ Hockey team of the GOJHL, playing 16 games and getting onto the score sheet another 7 times.

Ryan is one talented Young man and YOUR Cochrane Crunch aren’t the only ones that see the talent.  He has been invites to the Erie Otters of the OHL.  He has decided to go to the try outs for more experience and to see how he stacks up against the Major Junior Players.  He still has his sights set on a NCAA Division I scholarship!

Ryan and I had a very interesting conversation and here is what he had to say:

“I am really, really excited to join such a professionally run organization.  I have never had the chance to be involved with such a High-End organization.

Making the decision to come to play in Cochrane was pretty easy.  My dad spent some time in Cochrane and he nothing but nice things to say about the town and it’s people so it was a pretty easy decision to make.

I have seen pictures of the Tim Horton Event Centre and I think it’s going to be amazing to have everything a Junior Hockey player needs under one roof.  I mean how often do you get the chance to skate, do a spin class, a work out and a swim and you can do it all within one building.”

Ryan has very precise goals for this season. “I want to improve as a hockey player and as a person.”  His long term goals are an NCAA Division I or Division III scholarship but I he would also playing for a CIS school right here in Canada but he has a few years before he needs to make that decision.  After he is all done with schooling his main goal is to continue his Hockey career and to play Pro anywhere in the world.  He will go where ever he is offered the best contract.

So Cochrane join me in welcoming this Young man into our community.

See you at the rink!!!
