GoldMiners add a pair of Dmen

The Kirkland Lake Gold Miners are pleased to announce that they have finalized a trade with the Minnesota Iron Rangers of the SIJHL for the rights to Quinn Mischke.  Mischke, born in 1995 is a 6’ 3” 205Lb hard hitting defenseman from Grand Rapids, Mn.  Head Coach & GM Marc Lafleur says, “ Quinn is a big bodied veteran Jr Dman, who will bring a physical aspect to the game and leadership to the team”.

The Kirkland Lake Gold Miners are also pleased to announce that they have signed Jesse Houlton.  Houlton is a 6’ 2” ,200lb defenseman from Kearney, Ont.  Last season Jesse scored 10 times and added 21 assists for 31 pts in 37 games and was the rookie of the year for the Huntsville Otters.  Coach & GM Marc Lafleur says, “Jesse is a highly skilled, yet very intense young man who will add to our D group”.

The Kirkland Lake Gold Miners are setting themselves up for a run at the NOJHL championship as they prepare to host the 2015 Dudley Hewitt Cup.
