A two-year veteran of the P.A.L Islanders, forward Arthur Mirante is thrilled to announce his NCAA Division III commitment to Connecticut College for the 2025-26 season.
Mirante, a Garden City, NY native, is in his second full season with the Islanders. During his first season he played in 46 total games and contributed seven points. He has really found his stride this season and has shined as one of the top forwards in the league.
In 42 games played so far, Mirante has 46 points (19G, 27A) and is looking to keep it going into the playoffs. Mirante was also named an Atlantic All-Star back in January.
“I have loved my time at P.A.L. over the past two years,” said Mirante. “We have a very tight-knit group, and the coaches have been very helpful in my development, so it was a no-brainer to come back for another year.”
Mirante began his communications with the Connecticut College coaching staff back in December after watching him play. He explained that the coaches liked his “size and playmaking ability.”
Mirante was drawn to Connecticut College for its great academic programs and the fact that he will be able to compete in tough league hockey-wise.
“I was immediately interested in Connecticut College because it is an excellent academic school, and is part of the NESCAC Conference, one of the most competitive leagues in Division III hockey,” said Mirante.
He also really liked the fact that the school was close to home in New York and that the staff and players made him feel welcomed right from the jump.
“I enjoyed my visit very much, especially the architecture and the athletic facilities and locker room,” said Mirante. “It is not too far from home. Coach David Woodford showed us around before speaking with (Head) Coach Jim Ward. We both loved the campus and the players we met were all very welcoming.”
Mirante knows the pace of play will be a big jump from juniors to college so he is going to work hard during the off-season to get faster and stronger so he can make an impact right away.
As for the rest of his juniors career, Mirante is hoping to go all the way with his Islanders team this season. They finished with the top spot in the Atlantic Division with a 41-7-3-3 record and went 18-0-1-1 in 20 of their last 21 regular season games.
“Our goal since day one has always been to win the Dineen Cup,” said Mirante. “The boys are looking to finish the regular season strong and get ready for a deep playoff run.”
The NCDC congratulates Arthur Mirante, his family, the P.A.L Islanders and Connecticut College for his commitment.
