While many are hopping to get back to playing hockey, some players arrived in Traverse City yesterday excited to be back on the ice.
Players from Texas, California, Minnesota, New York, Ohio, Illinois and across Michigan came together to shake off the rust and get back to doing what they do best.
On the first day it was clear some had not see the ice much in the last four months while others had an early jump on getting back to playing.
Some early first day standouts were 2003 Defensemen Markus Keller and Tyler Morgan. Both players showed good skating skills with great vision and timing moving the puck up the ice.
2003 Forward Zach Bade and 2002 Forward Dmitriy Ignatov showed exceptional speed, puck skills and scoring ability.
Goaltender Joe Krzysiak a 2002 DOB and student of OHL goaltending coach AJ Walczak from the Saginaw Spirit showed he is ready for the 2020 season. Making several highlight reel saves, Kryzsiak is preparing to head to Europe for the 2020 season.
Day two should see more players getting their feet underneath them as they prepare for the season.
