The Death Pool – Death Bed Coaches

Its another beautiful Monday kids.  And I got to say I have been waiting for some info to come trickling in on some of the coaches that are long over due to get fired.

Its easy to pick them out eh kids?  I mean seriously, how many years is an owner going to keep some idiot who proves he has no clue how to build a winning team let alone coach a team up?

So what are the signs of a coach on life support, or on his death bed?

How about a consistent losing record?  Maybe the inability to actually develop young players to move them up to the USHL?  Or, how about the guy who constantly picks the same “style” of team or player and they consistently keep losing?

Maybe its the guy who doesn’t listen to his assistant coaches?  Or the guy who people in the community just don’t like?  Or maybe its the dumb dumb who thinks sending people out to fight in order to cover up for his inadequacy in all the above other things?

Well kids all you got to do is look through the standings in just about any league and find a few of these guys on their death beds.  If their not on their death beds, the franchise probably is, and the owner isn’t smart enough to figure out how to fix things.

The best owner for these coaches are the ones who don’t actually live in town, and don’t really have a clue whats going on.  These are the owners these types of coaches will be looking for when they start interviewing next year.  But hey, we all know the recycle game too don’t we?

Yep, a guy coaches at Tier II and no matter how bad he did, he is the next hot commodity at Tier III because he talks about his Tier II connections.  And the Tier III owners will go for it.

So as we wind down the regular season, and teams become officially eliminated from the playoffs, lets hope some of these guys are simply done.  Lets see some new blood and some new ways of doing things.

The definition of insanity is doing the same things repeatedly and expecting different results.  You think people would get a clue huh?

Stick around kids, we may have some special reports this week and next.  Grab some coffee and kick your feet up things may actually get interesting.  You think a coach in the process of being fired actually thinks about how it probably feels the same as when he cut players he maybe shouldn’t have cut during main camp?
