Hey kids, just a little follow up to this mornings article and tomorrows Part II of The Death Watch.
So, it looks like, from the volume of emails, and phone calls my boss is getting that some teams are a little upset with being on The Death Watch, or are afraid of being in tomorrow edition. Ummmmmm yeah, well about your hurt feelings…..
No one cares.
See, it doesn’t matter if you’re a TJHN sponsor or not. If you screw up, you will be the subject of a story. Yeah, kind of like when the NOJHL kicked out the owner of Mattawa last year, and the commissioner complimented our publisher on the report. In case you didn’t know, its called talking about the facts.
The facts are that every team listed in The Death Watch articles are playing with roster numbers that are unsafe. That’s right, you are placing players health and welfare in danger when you cant play with at least 3 lines, or 15 skaters. Sure it could happen for a weekend, or a game, but not to start the season.
Lots of people are just waiting and watching for the first player to get injured and sue the crap out of one of these teams.
See, if you did the right thing, you could recruit 15 skaters in the summer. If you did the right thing, you would fold for a year, or for good if you cant get 15 skaters. That’s called putting your money where your mouth is.
All this talk about “its for the kids” when you take the ice with an incomplete roster and risk their health, is a bunch of garbage. Speak the truth if you do this and tell everyone “its all about the owner”.
Teams going under, you can blame yourselves. Or you can blame the leagues for allowing more expansion that clearly cant be supported. You cant even blame USA Hockey because it wouldn’t even get to USA Hockey if you as an owner and your league didn’t already approve the expansion!
Stop your sniveling and your “oh poor me” whining. No one wants to hear it. Face it. You screwed up and now you’re getting called out for screwing up and risking players health. Don’t like it, don’t read it. Don’t want to have it exposed, do your job or fold.
If you think people don’t want to know whats going on, you might want to ask yourself why we added nearly 1000 followers in the last six weeks.
See you tomorrow kids, I am sure to piss off a bunch more….
