The Lincoln Stars Part Ways with Head Coach Jimmy McGroarty

The Lincoln Stars of the USHL have dismissed Jimmy McGroarty as the team’s Head Coach.  Mick Berge will take over as interim head coach, with Chris Holt continuing as assistant coach.

“It’s always a sad day when changes of this nature are made, but in the end, we have to do what we feel is best for the hockey club and our fans,” said Jon Hull, Stars GM/President of Hockey Operations. “This is another step in the new direction of the Stars.  We are going to continue to press forward with our plan, and never deviate from the constant focus of creating an annual championship contender in Lincoln. We thank Jimmy for his years of service, and wish him and his family nothing but the best.”

The Stars will initiate their search for a replacement immediately, and expect to fill the roll prior to May’s USHL draft.

The Stars are at home tonight and tomorrow against the Des Moines Buccaneers.
