2026 Graduating Class: Windsor Spitfires

After claiming a second consecutive West Division title and making a deep run to the Western Conference Final, the Windsor Spitfires enjoyed another standout season in 2025-26. Led by an experienced core, the Spitfires found success on both sides of the puck throughout the regular season and playoffs.

With the season now complete, Windsor will bid farewell to several important veterans as Alex Pharand, Wyatt Kennedy and Joey Costanzo close the chapter on their OHL careers.

Alex Pharand (Windsor Spitfires, Sudbury Wolves, Hamilton Bulldogs – 2021-26)

Acquired from the Sudbury Wolves in a major trade at the January trade deadline, Alex Pharand arrived in Windsor after recording 26 points (10-16–26) in 37 games with his hometown Wolves. The season prior, he posted a career-best 59 points while registering 153 shots on goal. A respected leader away from the rink, Pharand was also a three-time recipient of Sudbury’s Community Service Award during his time with the club. In his lone season with the Spitfires, he contributed 16 points (6-10–16) down the stretch.

The 6-foot-3 winger closes out his OHL career with 184 points (74-110–184) across 323 regular-season games. Originally selected by the Hamilton Bulldogs in the first round (14th overall) of the 2021 OHL Priority Selection, Pharand was later chosen by the Chicago Blackhawks in the fourth round (99th overall) of the 2023 NHL Draft. The Sudbury, Ont. native is committed to Clarkson University for next season.

Wyatt Kennedy (Windsor Spitfires, North Bay Battalion – 2021-26)

The right-shot defenceman finished the 2025-26 season with 26 points (3-23–26), 84 shots and a plus-37 rating. Kennedy was voted the Western Conference’s Best Defensive Defenceman in the OHL Coaches Poll and was also named a finalist for the Ted Baker Teammate of the Year Award.

The 6-foot-5 blueliner wraps up his OHL career with 72 points (10-62–72) across 268 regular-season games. Originally selected by North Bay in the third round (50th overall) of the 2021 OHL Priority Selection, the Vars, Ont. native is committed to the University of New Hampshire for next season.

Joey Costanzo (Windsor Spitfires, Niagara IceDogs – 2021-26)

After being acquired from the Niagara IceDogs in 2022, Joey Costanzo spent the majority of his junior career in Windsor, becoming the backbone of the Spitfires’ crease and delivering his strongest season in his final year.

Costanzo set a new franchise record with a 2.16 goals-against average while helping lead Windsor to a second consecutive West Division title. He opened the season with eight straight wins and later established another franchise mark with 102 career victories, graduating as one of the few goaltenders in OHL history to surpass the 100-win milestone.
